A Pentecost Party!
As we’ve not been able to meet as church, and prayer is key to our life here at St Germain’s, we wanted to put together a prayer art installation to celebrate Pentecost. So a few of us had a socially distanced chat, one thing led to another and we decided we wanted the nearest we could get to a lockdown Pentecost Party. ‘Lights’ said James – ‘if it’s a birthday party, gotta have lights’. ‘Cake’ said Heather – ‘I’m not celebrating a birthday without cake’. So, what do you do with lights, cake, and prayer when you can’t meet?
The answer is….
You borrow lights and light up the church (with thanks to SFL of Reading who have lent us lights for a week):
You hang doves in the trees around church:
We’ve put together ‘decorate a dove’ kits, and delivered a flyer into the parish inviting anyone who wants to decorate a dove to be hung to text the food hub so we can deliver them.
You offer everyone in the parish who wants it birthday cake!
