Racial Justice Sunday 2025

This week marks the 30th anniversary of the observance established after the murder of Stephen Lawrence. In her sermon, Rev Sarah discussed two biblical texts from Isaiah 56 and Acts 2, emphasizing the church's role in racial justice and inclusion.

The sermon highlighted how God's message transcends cultural and racial boundaries, illustrating this through the early church's experience of welcoming diverse peoples after Pentecost. She stressed the importance of creating a safe space for all believers, regardless of their cultural background, and the church's responsibility to address racial injustices both internally and externally. The message concluded with a call to recognize that humanity is one race, celebrating diversity as part of God's creation.
